Workshop on Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications with Smart Systems

Security and privacy have become emerging issues in smart systems, as they are all integrated with diverse devices and heterogeneous protocols. The smart systems can be compromised and thus result in large breaches or data exfiltration. Traditional security solutions are not adequate or effective when they apply to smart system security due to the limited computing power, closed computing environments and broad threat surface of the systems. The challenges call for researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry together to discuss issues and novel solutions in smart systems. This workshop aims to bring together state-of-the-art contributions on security and privacy in computing and communications with smart systems.

Topics will include
• Design methods of secure and reliable applications in smart systems (IoT, CPS, CPSS)
• System and software security of smart home
• Lightweight cryptography, protocols, and standards for smart home
• Malware in smart home
• Critical infrastructures resilience and security in smart cities
• Security challenges and mitigation approaches for smart cities
• Cyber attack detection and prevention systems for computing and communications in smart systems
• Ethics, legal, and social considerations in smart system security
